What the estimate includes.
Annual hours = protocols × reviewers × review cycles × hours per reviewer per cycle. Internal effort cost = annual hours × average hourly cost.
The estimate covers the review activity you enter. It excludes protocol authoring, amendments unless included in your figures, supplier costs and later study costs. Averaging can hide differences between studies and specialist roles.
Measure the change before claiming the benefit.
During an evaluation, record time spent finding evidence, resolving comments and understanding past decisions for comparable tasks. Assess the completeness and quality of the result alongside time. No percentage saving is assumed.
